Game Time: 1:30 pm

The Bronco Mendenhall era started out rough with losses to Richmond and Oregon, but now’s the time to get it back and start showing something positive. With Central Michigan and Duke up next – both winnable games – get by UConn, and …
There isn’t such a thing as a winnable game right now for Virginia, at least without any semblance of a defense.
The Cavaliers managed to score a bit in the first two games, but the defense hasn’t shown up allowing 578 yards per game hurt mostly by a disastrous secondary. Worst yet, they’re not creating any breaks going a -3 so far in turnover margin.
UConn hasn’t had a whole much more luck, struggling to get by Maine before losing brutal heartbreaker against Navy thanks to a timeout snafu at the end. However, the passing game has been ultra-efficient, and against a Virginia D that looks like it needs a lot more time, that should be enough to come up with a bounceback win after the Navy debacle.
