Mississippi State (1-2) vs. Massachusetts (1-2) Game Preview
Date: Saturday, September 24th
Game Time: 3:30 pm
Venue: Gillette Stadium, Foxboro, MA
It’s an interesting fish-out-of-water game for the SEC with Mississippi State playing in Belichick’s house. The Bulldogs have come really, really close to starting out 3-0, but you are what your record is – to quote another Patriot head coach, Bill Parcells – and it’s been a rough go so far to come up with any semblance of consistency.
The offense has yet to find itself without getting the help of a Leonard Fournette fumble here and decent field position there, but the UMass offense is at a whole other level of bad.
The Minutemen are playing terrific defense so far, and now they’re finally starting to score a bit putting up 21 on FIU – a flurry of points for the nation’s worst offense.
UMass might have kept Florida in check with a 24-7 loss to open things up, but Mississippi State will do a better job of taking this game seriously and not using it as a tune-up. The Bulldog offense won’t put on a show, but the Minutemen won’t go anywhere.
