Arizona (1-1) vs. Hawaii (1-2) Game Preview

Game Time: 10:45 pm
Venue: Arizona Stadium, Tucson, AZ

It’s been a rough start for both teams, but Hawaii has had it particularly tough with Cal and Michigan combining for 114 points in two blowout wins, and then came the close call at home against UT Martin.
The Rainbow Warriors have had their moments running the ball, but the passing attack hasn’t been able to crank it up yet under new head coach Nick Rolovich – that’s a problem for a D getting ripped up for 520 yards per game.
Hawaii’s biggest problem is simply hanging on to the ball with eight turnovers so far, but four Skyhawk turnovers turned out to be a saving grace to get the win. Meanwhile, Arizona, for all of its issues, is a +2 in turnover margin – the Wildcats win big if they’re on the positive side.
The Rich Rodriguez offense hasn’t exploded, but it came back late to avoid an embarrassment against Grambling and came within a late stop of beating BYU. This is the time to start looking the part with Washington up next.
With Anu Solomon struggling through a knee injury, Brandon Dawkins has to be better after hitting just 15-of-27 passes last week. Going forward, though, the Wildcats have to be able to run the ball. If they can’t do it this week, there’s a huge problem.
